Kindergarten - The Beginning of the Journey
The foundation stone of Naval Kindergarten School Port Blair was laid by Vice Admiral KL Kulkarni PVSM, FOC-in-C Eastern Naval Command, on January 13, 1974. The school commenced operations on November 4, 1974, and was inaugurated by Cmde PC Rajkhowa AVSM, Naval Officer-in-Charge of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
As the A&N Command expanded, a second branch of NKG Port Blair was established at Minnie bay and inaugurated by Vice Admiral Harinder Singh AVSM, Fortress Command A&N Islands, on March 12, 1999.
NKG Minnie Bay will celebrate it's 25th foundation days in 2024.
The school has three sections each of Balvatika I & Balvatika III and four sections of Balvatika II along with Music Room and Activity Room. Smart boards are installed in the Balvatika III classes
classrooms and the activity room. We have upgraded our CCTV camera and Central Announcement System.

The primary aims of NKGs are for their children to:
(a) Experience a supported and successful transition from home or child care to Kindergarten and Kindergarten to school.
(b) Feel safe and secure in a caring and learning environment.
(c) Develop confidence in new situations to take risks and try new experiences.
(d) Develop a positive image of themselves as powerful learners.
(e) Be resilient with a growth mindset which sees mistakes as learning opportunities.
(f) Develop skills in getting along with others and making new friends.
(g) Learn co-operatively with others.
(h) Learn sustainable practices and a sense of responsibility for environment.
(i) Leam from literacy, numeracy and science experiences.
(j) Participate in learning experiences with time to explore, be curious, ask questions, experiment and have fun while learning.
